What is Manuka honey?
Manuka honey is a monofloral honey from New Zealand, made by bees foraging on the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium). It is prized for its rich, malty flavour and its naturally occurring methylglyoxal (MGO). Every jar in our range is from Manuka Health, certified and independently tested for genuine New Zealand origin.
Understanding MGO ratings
The MGO number tells you the minimum methylglyoxal content per kilogram, so a higher number means a more potent honey. Our range runs from everyday MGO 30+ and MGO 100+, to high strength MGO 250+ and MGO 400+.
How to choose
For daily use, in tea, on porridge or in baking, MGO 30+ or 100+ is a great place to start. If you want a stronger, more intense honey to take by the spoon, choose MGO 250+ or 400+. Whichever you pick, a little goes a long way.
How to use Manuka honey
Enjoy it straight from the spoon, stirred into warm (not boiling) water with lemon, drizzled over yoghurt, or as a natural sweetener. Browse the full range above, or explore our wider raw honey and honey collection.
