Rosehips have a long history of use in Europe, from early Christians who crafted the first rosary beads from Rosehips, to Viking invaders who used Rosehips as a source of Vitamin C to keep them healthy on their epic voyages. There are many different species of Rosehip including R. pouzinii, R. corymbifera, R. glauca & R.canina. Each species contains different quantities of Phenols, Polyphenols and Ascorbic Acid, with R.canina known to have the greatest concentration of these potentially beneficial compounds.
